For this exercise I had to design the cover of a magazine. I had the entire cover space to work with.
I was advised to
- keep it simple
- be interesting
- think of all the effects of rain that I have seen
- I may not have to wait for a rainy day
- make the images attractive/attractive.
Well as many will know we have not had much rain down here for the last six -10 weeks. In view of this I decided to try to take an image that would make people think about rain. What do most people have to protect them against the rain? A coat and an umbrella.
I chose to take some images of an umbrella but I didn’t want the pictures to be just standard pictures, so here are my results.
Image One
Image Two
Image Three
Image Four
So these are my images with water added as we have had no rain.
But as soon as I started writing this Blog, you guessed it, it started to rain.
I grabbed my kit and tried to take an image that a friend, Dave Rooney, had captured for a project he is undertaking, (see DJR 1 aday on Flikr)
I really enjoyed this exercise, I hope that my images are simple, interesting and attractive.
The roof fin was a last minute shot , it looks ok maybe it could go on the front of a design magazine.
