This short exercise required me to take 4 images as follows
- Frontal Lighting- with the sun behind the camera
- Side lighting- with the sun to the left of right of the image
- Back lighting- shooting towards the light
- Edge lighting-shooting towards the sun with it out of view.
You can see that the sun is behind the camera by the shadow falling away. The front of the pot is lighter that the sides.
It was hard not to get caught in the shadow, however in this shot we did but I liked it anyway.
Here you can see that the right side of the image is in shade.
With this image the pier is in shadow the sun is going down and I liked this image.
The sun here is out of shot but is casting a nice shadow onto the grave stones.
This was a nice little exercise but getting the right weather was a problem. Over the last few week exercises with ISO, sun, shadow and white balance have all come together.
