Assignment 5 Feedback
I have just received my images and feedback from Mr Taylor for my last assignment.
This was the last assignment for my second first year course, Digital Photographic Practice.
As ever Mr Taylor made some excellent comments that will help me in the future.
…..”You have produced a good series of images that have been well executed in terms of technique and composition. This is commendable considering the subject matter and location, and its fast-moving action. There is a clear narrative of a rescue operation that is taking place. There is a similarity in the series in that they all show the helicopter in flight. I think that you have recognised that it would have been good to get close-‐ups of some of the crew members and their kit, perhaps also the aircraft parked at its base, ready for action. I have mentioned above my concern over the two monochrome versions, also the similarity with image 7. Eliminating these would still give a set of seven, sufficient for a good display.
The pictures are printed to different sizes and set into different size mounts; images 1 and 2 have been mounted together. This helps to give variety in presentation but may create problems in layout of the exhibition. There is the danger that it may simply look inconsistent. It will also add considerably to the framing cost.
Notwithstanding the above comments, this has been a good project. I am sure that the client and the participants will be very pleased with the results. “
I was really pleased with what he said, these images together with my other work for this course will be sent for formal assessment in July.
