On Monday evening (13th Sept.) I attended a talk on the Components of Composition by Mr Mike Farley (LRPS).
He explained that there are some basic rules in how to compose your shots but they do not have to be followed all of the time.
Sometimes I think that you would be better the have captured the image, say of an important event , rather than miss it as you pondered if you had followed the rules of composition.
As in the words of Edward Weston “Consulting the rules of composition before taking a photograph is like consulting the laws of gravity before going for a walk.
There was an interesting feature on composition in Digital Photographer this week.
